An Outrageously Simple Word that Gives You the "Me Time" that You Crave

It's NO secret. This two-letter word gives you the backbone to set boundaries and set yourself free from others infringing on your "me time." So often as moms we lovingly sacrificing our own time and needs for others. We get used to it. We just put our own stuff on the back burner and adapt. As a result, we forget how amazing it feels to put ourselves first. Eventually, we get to a point when we want to reclaim this time for ourselves.

To do this, we need to practice using the word 'no.'

"No is both the tool and the barrier we use to establish and maintain the perimeter of self. No says, this is who I am, this is what I value, this is what I will and will not do; this is how I choose to act."

Granted, we can’t say “no” to every request. But saying “yes” to everything creates stress and eliminates our free time. This isn’t acceptable. Value your time and energy. You’ll have more to give to your kids and family if you take care of yourself.

If you're wondering how to actually do this stay tuned. We'll talk about the "how to" in my next blog.
